The technical and professional education system is undergoing a radical shift: from the impact of major policy reforms to wider changes to the context in which TPE is designed and delivered. These changes could and should result in a TPE system that is radically simplified, better joined up for learners and more responsive to employers. That transformed system would be a key component of both national and local industrial strategies and enable real progress towards a higher status for TPE in this country. The purpose of this point-of-view is to help shape a vision for the future of TPE that is shared across providers, employers, government and others.

In order to provide a framework for how TPE providers need to change, we have developed an organisational capabilities framework for the successful TPE provider of the future. This point-of-view describes that framework and concludes by suggesting some key elements of an agenda for change for Collab Group and the wider college sector.
